Part I Contemplation

In the desolate shadows
of my battered psyche
I have spent many hours
in the tranquil night
stuck in the corners
of this ruin
and unable to set
my heart alight.
I am unsure if it’s finally
ready to live
unable to take its advice
as it seems a bit shady
determined to keep me here.
Special care must be taken
as there’s still some obvious repairs
needing to be made.
